After we've fully delivered your AI receptionist (typically 7-10 days from purchase) PLUS a 7-day free trial of the live product. Until then your card is on file but not charged. Buffer trial is 14 days by default; we'll extend if onboarding runs longer.

What does the setup fee actually cover?

Custom prompt configuration, calendar/CRM integration, voice and tone tuning to match how your shop talks, two-to-four real test calls with you, and a written training doc you can hand to a new team member. It's the work to make the AI sound like it actually works at your shop, not generic AI bot voicemail.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Month-to-month, no contracts, no early-termination fees. Cancel from your billing portal or just text us. Setup fees aren't refundable once we've done the build, but the monthly subscription stops the moment you cancel.

What if my customers won't talk to an AI?

Most won't notice. Our AI uses natural conversational pacing, real-sounding voice, and never repeats "I'm sorry I didn't get that." If a caller specifically asks to talk to a person, the AI immediately captures the message and texts you so you can call back — faster than a typical answering service.

What about emergencies? Does the AI know the difference?

Yes — emergency keyword detection is built in for every trade we cover (no heat in winter, water leak, gas smell, electrical hazard, roof emergency). When the AI hears one, it captures the caller's name, callback number, address, and details, then fires an instant SMS + email to your on-call owner with the full context. You decide whether to call back, dispatch, or escalate — the AI doesn't bridge the live call. Premium and Elite include richer caller context and routing rules; Pro sends the same alert with intake details.

Can I switch from my existing answering service?

Yes — in fact most of our customers do. We coordinate the cutover so there's zero gap in coverage. If you're on a contract with your current service, we'll help you time the switch to minimize early-termination cost. Call us before you sign anything else.

What happens after my 7-day trial ends?

Your card on file is auto-charged the monthly amount. If you want to cancel before the trial ends, just text us or use the cancel link in your welcome email — you'll only have paid the setup fee, and we'll refund half of it as a courtesy if you cancel within the trial period.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Anytime. Most shops start on Pro or Premium and move up as they see what the AI is doing. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period; upgrades take effect immediately, prorated.

What if a caller really wants a human?

The AI captures their name, callback number, reason for the call, and any context you'd need, then fires an instant SMS + email to you with the full transcript. We don't bridge the live call — this is intentional. Live transfers fail more often than they help (carrier blocks, dropped calls, the wrong tech picking up), and the asynchronous handoff means you call back when you're actually able to take the call. Most operators tell us they prefer it. You'll never miss a "real person needed" request.
